What is the School Council?

The William Burgess School Council is made up of parent, caregiver and guardian volunteers, the principal, a teacher representative. Together, through countil, executive roles and committees, we work to support student achievement and strengthen our school community. 

How We're Funded 

Each fall, the Council develops and approves a budget focused on enhancing the school experience for every child. We're supported by donations and sponsorships from families and local businesses, alongside fundraising events held throughout the year. Funds go directly toward:

• Classroom supplies and resources

• In-class enrichment experiences

• Field trips and transportation

• Music, physical education, special education, the school garden, robotics, and more

Get Involved

Each year, William Burgess parents, guardians and caregivers generously volunteer their time to support our students and make school events successful.

There are many ways to get involved:

• Become a Parent/Guardian Member

• Take on an Executive Role

• Join a Committee

• Volunteer  at a Fundraiser and /or School Community Event

• Attend a Meeting

All are Welcome

Whether you attend a meeting, volunteer at an event, join a committee or take on a larger role, your contribution helps support our students and school community.
