Annual Committees

By-Law and Ethics: Reviews the by-laws annually and identifies any updates that may be needed.  

Open Committee


Carnival: The Carnival Chair(s) leads the committee. They plan and coordinates all aspects of the Spring Carnival including sponsorship, donations, volunteers, games, ticket sales, food, and more.

Communications: Supports communication with the school community, including posters, website maintenance and updates, and the Council’s other online communications. The committee is led by the Communications Chair(s).

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: 

Promotes and celebrates the diversity of William Burgess students and families and helps create a welcoming and inclusive school community.

Fundraising Committee: Led by the Fundraising Chair(s), the committee supports the planning and delivery of fundraising events and initiatives. Events can include Movie Nights, Popcorn Days, Freezie Fridays, and more.

School Gardens &  Grounds: Supports the maintenance, improvement, and ongoing care of the school’s outdoor grounds and garden areas. No gardening experience is needed, and kids are welcome to help!
