Members and Elections

All caregivers, parents and guardians of students registered at William Burgess Public School are qualified to stand for election as a member of the Council, unless employed at the school.

Elections occur in the first 30 days of the start of each school year. Guardian representatives sign up at the first meeting of the school year or the first meeting of the calendar year. More info to come.

The council is made of the Executive is comprised of a chair (or two (2) co-chairs), treasurer(s), a secretary or secretaries, communications chair(s) and fundraising chair(s).

Guardian Representatives must commit to attend all (or most) meetings and to actively support the Council.

The Principal and one teacher are also part of the council. One non-teaching staff and one community representative are eligible to be on the council. More details can be found in the By-laws.
